Sanlorenzo, agreement with Axpo to reduce emissions

2 min read

Sanlorenzo yacht is moving towards an increasingly green perspective. In addition to the sustainable propulsion projects that you have been implementing for boats for some time, you are now focusing on photovoltaics to power your production sites. With this in mind, you have entered into an agreement with Axpo energy solutions Italia (Aesi).

Thanks to this agreement, the construction of three new photovoltaic systems at the Sanlorenzo factories in Ameglia, La Spezia, and Viareggio will allow a total reduction of Co2 emissions from those yacht factories by over 600 tonnes per year.

Total power of 1.5 megawatts

In concrete terms, the agreement between the two companies led to the creation of three photovoltaic systems, for a total power of 1.5 megawatts, which are added to the 500 kilowatts already present at the Sanlorenzo offices. The group also plans to further increase installed power to 3.1 megawatts by the end of 2024.

«Excellence and sustainability – he tells Marco Garbero, general manager of Aesi – represent principles that can help companies to appropriately face the challenges of the ecological transition».

«We believe – continues Garbero – that the collaborative relationship with Sanlorenzo constitutes a tangible manifestation of this vision, as well as showing the potential of the green economy as an opportunity to generate unprecedented synergies between companies that belong to different sectors».
