Ovs enters Goldenpoint for the development of “underwear” garments

2 min read

Ovs has signed a letter of intent with the shareholders of Goldenpoint with the aim of developing a possible industrial partnership. This can be read in a note which indicates that the operation aims to “strengthen the current product offering” and to achieve “synergies deriving from the sharing of the Ovs group’s supply chain, as well as the development of new sales points” in the so-called “underwear” (underwear). The operation involves a “possible initial investment by Ovs in Goldenpoint” – it is explained – with a minority shareholding and the subscription of a financial instrument which, in the medium term, Ovs can convert into a controlling shareholding”.

Ovs has a market share of 9.6%, while Goldenpoint boasts a sales network of around 380 stores in historic centers and main shopping centers in Italy, with a turnover of almost 100 million euros. The partnership is aimed at “improving Goldenpoint’s performance by strengthening the current product offering and obtaining synergies deriving from sharing the ‘supply chain’ of the Ovs group, as well as the development of new points of sale”. The possible finalization of the agreements signed today is subject to the successful completion of the ‘due diligence’ activities envisaged in these cases. For Ovs this is not the first operation to grow. Already in March 2021 Stefanel had taken over maintaining the 100 employees and the archives of the knitwear brand, and then relaunching it in October of the same year with new ‘pret à porter’ collections. However, the acquisition of Coin fell through last year.
